Latest Smartphones in India Oct 2026
If you’ve tried to keep up with phone launches in India over the last few weeks, I don’t blame you for feeling lost. The iPhone 18 Pro, a new Redmi Note, Vivo’s V80, Oppo’s F35 series and a couple of foldables have all landed in about six weeks. And because Diwali sale season is running at the same time, every second tab in your browser is a discount banner.
So I went through the launch details and put everything in one place: what came out in September, what’s launching this month, what’s rumoured for November, and how the main phones compare on paper.
One honest note before we start: I haven’t used any of these phones myself. Everything below comes from official specs, launch announcements and retailer listings, not hands-on testing. Treat this as a shortlist to narrow things down, then read a couple of proper reviews before you spend ₹40,000 or ₹1,60,000.
Quick answer: my shortlist by need
- Best all-rounder for the money: Redmi Note 17 Pro (big 9,000mAh battery, OIS camera, under ₹40,000)
- Best if you want the best iPhone: iPhone 18 Pro (new A20 Pro chip, variable-aperture camera)
- Best for long-term software support: Samsung Galaxy S26 FE (7 years of updates promised)
- Best battery on paper: Vivo S2 FE (10,000mAh) or Redmi Note 17 Pro Max (10,000mAh with 100W charging)
- Best for camera-first buyers in the ₹60,000s: Vivo V80 (50MP main plus a 50MP 3x telephoto)
Why phone prices feel higher this year
It’s not just you. Several brands have raised prices this year, and reports point to the industry-wide memory chip shortage as the main reason. You can see it in the numbers: the Oppo F33 Pro launched at ₹37,999, and its successor, the F35 Pro, starts at ₹45,999. Vivo’s new V80 now begins at ₹62,999. Even Samsung’s “fan edition” S26 FE costs noticeably more than last year’s model.
That’s why timing matters. Amazon’s Great Indian Festival sale began on October 8, with an extra 10% instant discount on eligible SBI cards, and bank offers plus exchange bonuses can cut a fair amount off the sticker price. Prices below are launch prices, so always check the live price on Amazon before buying.
Phones launched in September 2026 (last month)
Apple iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max
Apple announced these on September 9, with pre-orders from September 12 and sales from September 18. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at ₹1,64,900 for 256GB, and the Pro Max starts at ₹1,79,900. Storage goes all the way up to 2TB if you’re feeling brave (the 2TB Pro is ₹3,14,900).
Highlights:
- A20 Pro chip built on a 2nm process
- 48MP triple rear camera system with a variable-aperture main camera
- 6.3-inch display on the Pro, 6.9-inch on the Pro Max
- Apple says the Pro Max gets its biggest-ever iPhone battery life jump
- New Burgundy and Glacier colours, alongside Black and Silver
Who it’s for: people already in the Apple ecosystem who want the newest camera and chip, and don’t mind paying for it. If you don’t need the latest, last year’s iPhones are getting sale discounts right now.

Samsung Galaxy S26 FE
Samsung unveiled this globally on August 27, and the India price landed in mid-September: ₹79,999 for the single 8GB + 256GB variant, on sale from September 18.
Highlights:
- 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, 120Hz, up to 1,900 nits
- Exynos 2500 chipset
- 50MP main (OIS), 12MP ultra-wide and 8MP 3x telephoto cameras, 12MP selfie camera
- 4,900mAh battery with 45W charging, IP68 rating
- Seven years of OS and security updates
My take: the update promise is the real selling point. The battery is modest next to what Chinese brands are offering, and ₹79,999 is a big jump from the S25 FE, which launched at ₹59,999. Worth it mainly if you plan to keep the phone for five-plus years.

Redmi Note 17 Pro and Note 17 Pro Max (Xiaomi)
This is probably the most talked-about launch in the mid-range. The Note 17 Pro starts at ₹36,999 (8GB + 128GB), with the 256GB model at ₹39,999. The Pro Max, the first “Max” in the Note Pro line, starts at ₹49,999 (8GB + 256GB), and the 12GB + 256GB version is ₹55,999. The Pro went on sale on September 17, the Pro Max on September 23.
Highlights:
- Note 17 Pro: 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED, 120Hz, Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, 9,000mAh battery with 67W charging
- Note 17 Pro Max: Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, a huge 10,000mAh battery with 100W charging
- 50MP main camera with OIS on both
- Top-tier dust and water protection (IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings listed on the Pro)
- Gemini and Circle to Search built in
My take: the Pro looks like the safer value pick. The Pro Max asks ₹13,000 more mainly for the bigger battery and faster charging, so only go for it if battery life is your top priority. Keep in mind the back panel is plastic.

Realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition
Launched on September 21 at ₹62,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant (about ₹56,699 with bank offers at launch). Only 5,000 units are being made worldwide. Inside, it’s the regular Realme 16 Pro: 6.78-inch 144Hz display, Dimensity 7300 Max, a 200MP main camera and a 7,000mAh battery with 80W charging.
My take: the standard Realme 16 Pro sells for around ₹45,000, so you’re paying roughly ₹18,000 extra for the design and the collector’s box. Great if you’re a fan, a poor deal if you just want the hardware. It’s sold on Flipkart and realme.com, so I haven’t added an Amazon link here.
Vivo T5 5G
A quieter launch on September 2, but worth a mention for mid-range shoppers. It’s priced at ₹34,999 and has a Dimensity 7500 Turbo chip, a curved AMOLED display and a 7,050mAh battery.
Phones launching in October 2026 (this month)
Oppo F35 5G and F35 Pro 5G
Launched on October 5 to mark ten years of Oppo’s F series, with sales from October 11. The F35 starts at ₹38,999 (6GB + 128GB) and the F35 Pro at ₹45,999, going up to ₹54,999 for 8GB + 256GB.
Highlights:
- 8,000mAh battery, 80W charging and IP69K rating
- 50MP ultra-wide selfie camera on both models
- F35 Pro: Dimensity 7360 Max, 50MP main camera with OIS, 4K video
- F35: Dimensity 6360 Max
My take: the hardware on the standard F35 is closely related to the older F33 Pro, so if you own that one there’s little reason to upgrade. The Pro is the more interesting phone, but at this price it competes directly with the Redmi Note 17 Pro series, which has a bigger battery.

Vivo V80
Launched on October 6, on sale from October 13 through Amazon, Flipkart, Vivo’s store and offline shops. It’s ₹62,999 for 8GB + 128GB, ₹69,999 for 8GB + 256GB and ₹79,999 for 8GB + 512GB.
Highlights:
- 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED, 144Hz, up to 5,000 nits peak brightness
- Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset
- Triple ZEISS camera setup: 50MP main with OIS, 50MP 3x telephoto, plus an ultra-wide, and a 50MP selfie camera
- 7,200mAh battery with 90W charging, the biggest on a V-series phone so far
- IP68 and IP69 ratings
- Four OS upgrades and six years of security updates
My take: it’s a strong spec sheet, but ₹62,999 is a lot for an upper mid-range phone. Compare it with the Galaxy S26 FE and the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max before you decide.

Vivo S2 FE
Launched alongside the V80 at ₹38,999 (6GB + 128GB) and ₹42,999 (8GB + 128GB), with sales starting October 20 on Flipkart. The headline is the 10,000mAh battery (the fine print reportedly lists it as 9,800mAh), paired with a Dimensity 7300e chip, a 6.83-inch AMOLED display and a 50MP main camera. Don’t expect a flagship-level camera or speed here; this one is all about lasting through the day and then some.
Foldables: Vivo X Fold 6 and Apple iPhone Duo
Two foldables are in the news. The Vivo X Fold 6 launched in India at ₹2,19,999 and goes on sale October 13, with a 200MP ZEISS camera and a 6,900mAh battery. Apple’s first foldable, the iPhone Duo, starts at ₹2,99,900 for 256GB, with pre-orders opening on October 16 and sales from October 23. Honestly, these are for a very specific buyer, and I’d want to read durability reviews before spending this much.
Phones expected in November 2026 (next month)
This part is based on tipsters and reports, not official announcements, so take the dates with a pinch of salt.
- Oppo Find X10 series: launched in China on September 22. An India launch is tipped for late October or early November, with one report suggesting before October 28. Reports say the Find X10 Pro Max is the top model, with three 200MP cameras.
- Vivo X500 series: launched in China on September 21. The India launch is tipped for late October or early November, though another outlet says it may not arrive before November or December.
- Xiaomi 18 series: tipped for India around December, earlier than Xiaomi’s usual flagship timing.
- OnePlus 16: a tipster claims it may skip India this year, with the OnePlus 16R possibly taking its place. OnePlus hasn’t confirmed this either way.
As of October 12, I couldn’t find a confirmed November launch date from Samsung or Realme, so I’m not going to guess.
If you’re eyeing a flagship, it might be worth waiting a few weeks to see what the Oppo and Vivo launches look like before you commit.

Which phones are likely to be most in demand?
I don’t have access to private sales data, so this is my read based on launch coverage, buzz and where the pricing sits. Treat it as an informed opinion, not a sales chart.
- Redmi Note 17 Pro series: Redmi’s Note line is traditionally a volume seller, and a 9,000mAh battery plus OIS camera under ₹40,000 is an easy pitch to explain.
- iPhone 18 Pro: every September launch draws huge search interest, and this year’s mix of a new chip and bigger battery keeps it in the conversation, even at this price.
- Vivo V80: Vivo’s V series always gets attention, and a 7,200mAh battery with a telephoto camera is a clear selling point.
- Oppo F35 series: the F series has a loyal base, though the price jump may slow it down.
- Samsung Galaxy S26 FE: a safe, brand-trusted choice, especially for buyers who want long update support.
Which one should you buy?
- Under ₹40,000: Redmi Note 17 Pro or Vivo S2 FE. Pick the Redmi for the better chip and charging speed, the Vivo if battery life matters most.
- ₹40,000 to ₹65,000: Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, Oppo F35 Pro or Vivo V80, depending on whether you value battery, durability or cameras.
- ₹65,000 to ₹90,000: Galaxy S26 FE if you want updates and a trusted brand. Otherwise, I’d wait for the Oppo and Vivo flagships.
- Above ₹1,50,000: iPhone 18 Pro or Pro Max, or a foldable if you really want one.
A few buying tips before you hit “Buy Now”
- Check the exact variant. The prices that grab attention are usually for the base model. The Vivo V80 is ₹62,999 for 8GB + 128GB, but ₹79,999 for 512GB.
- Stack your offers. Bank discounts, exchange bonuses and no-cost EMI can change which phone is actually cheaper.
- Check who’s selling it. On Amazon, look for “Sold by” an official or well-known retailer, and keep your invoice for warranty claims.
- Don’t pay for storage you won’t use. If you rely on cloud backups, 128GB is plenty for most people.
- Read a hands-on review. Specs don’t show you heat, camera processing or software quality, and that’s where phones differ most.
Frequently asked questions
Which phone launched in India in September 2026 is the best?
It depends on your budget. On paper, the Redmi Note 17 Pro looks like the best value, the Galaxy S26 FE has the longest update support, and the iPhone 18 Pro is the most powerful.
Which phones are launching in India in November 2026?
The Oppo Find X10 series and Vivo X500 series are both tipped for late October or November, though neither is confirmed for India yet. The Xiaomi 18 series is tipped for December.
Is the Vivo V80 worth ₹62,999?
It has a big battery, a 3x telephoto camera and long software support, so the spec sheet is strong. The price is steep for the segment, though, so compare it with the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max and Galaxy S26 FE first.
Should I buy during the Amazon Great Indian Festival sale?
If you’ve found the phone you want, the sale can bring the effective price down through bank and exchange offers. Brand-new launches get smaller discounts than older models, so if you’re flexible, last year’s flagships often see the biggest cuts.
Will the OnePlus 16 launch in India?
Not confirmed.
